What's Covered
This extended warranty covers mechanical and electrical faults that occur during normal use of your product within the warranty period. This includes:
- Mechanical failures: Components that stop working due to manufacturing defects or material failures during normal use.
- Electrical faults: Power issues, circuit failures, or other electrical problems not caused by external factors.
- Component malfunctions: Buttons, switches, displays, or other parts that fail under normal operating conditions.
- Software issues: Pre-installed software faults that prevent normal operation (where applicable to the product type).
What's Not Covered
To maintain clarity and fairness, the following are explicitly excluded from coverage:
- Accidental damage: Damage from drops, impacts, crushing, or other accidents.
- Water and liquid damage: Unless the product was specifically sold as water-resistant and damage occurred within stated specifications.
- Loss or theft: We do not cover lost or stolen items.
- Consumable items: Batteries (normal degradation), fuses, light bulbs, and other items subject to regular replacement.
- Unauthorised repairs: Damage or faults arising from repairs or modifications not authorised by LJMUK.
- Cosmetic wear and tear: Scratches, dents, discolouration, or other cosmetic issues that don't affect functionality.
- Misuse or negligence: Damage from improper use, failure to follow instructions, or exposure to extreme conditions.
- Pre-existing conditions: Faults that existed before the warranty was purchased or that should have been apparent at the time of purchase.
Our Approach to Claims
When you make a valid claim, we will assess the fault and determine the most appropriate resolution:
Repair
We'll arrange for the item to be repaired if the fault can be fixed economically.
Replace
We'll provide an equivalent replacement if repair isn't viable and stock is available.
Refund
We'll issue a refund if neither repair nor replacement is suitable.
The resolution method is determined at LJMUK's discretion based on the nature of the fault, product availability, and cost-effectiveness. We aim to provide the fairest and most practical solution in every case.
